Soil Pipe
Flush away your home’s waste and sewerage by installing safe, strong soil pipes. BC Profiles stocks a large number of fittings and accessories to make it easy for you to get your drainage system up and running in no time at all. Pick up single and double sockets in varying specifications and browse our selection of balloon grating, brackets, clips and connectors to find an item that meets your requirements. Your internal plumbing relies heavily on soil pipes. These understated yet essential pieces of engineering carry off waste from a fixture such as a toilet to a wastage plant or sewer and are a crucial part of your sanitation system. Designed to cope with heavier solid waste and excessive flush water flows, these pipes are traditionally made from heavier materials such as cast iron, though you will find that most contemporary soil pipes are developed using tough PVC to make sure they’re easy to install and repair. Gravity plays its part in ensuring a smooth flow of waste to a central source, but the way the pipes are angled will also greatly affect the system’s efficiency and its air flow. When fitting soil pipes, you need to make sure that you address a number of different factors in order to produce a flushing system that’s going to stand the test of time. Health and safety considerations are of paramount importance, so you’ll have to ensure that the installation is vented adequately to avoid unpleasant smells escaping from the fixture. The inclination of the pipes needs to be spot-on and all joins need to be fully secured. The costs of repairing or replacing a soil pipe can really add up should any problems arise. You’ll have to splash out on materials, pay sky-high labour costs and may even have to invite a building inspector to legally approve the work that’s been carried out. Review your system from time to time to make sure it’s performing as well as it should and remember to de-clog your soil pipes on a regular basis to keep things moving!
